ASTM F67 Medical Gr1 Titanium Wire
ASTM F67 Medical Gr1 Titanium Wire Description
Product Introduction
ASTM F67 Gr1 Medical Titanium Wire is an unalloyed titanium product conforming to ASTM F67 for surgical implant applications. High titanium content with tightly controlled interstitial elements delivers the highest ductility and best cold formability among CP titanium grades. Non-toxic, non-sensitizing, and non-magnetic, with biocompatibility certified to both ISO 5832-2 and ASTM F67. The material of choice for orthopedic implants, dental restorations, cardiovascular stents, and surgical instruments. Available from φ0.1 mm to φ6.5 mm, customizable up to φ10.0 mm, as a straight wire or coil.

Features and Advantages
- Highest ductility: Elongation≥24% annealed-the best cold formability of all CP titanium grades.
- Implant-grade certification: Dual-certified to ASTM F67 and ISO 5832-2 surgical implant standards.
- Non-toxic and non-sensitizing: Zero nickel content-no risk of metal allergy or rejection.
- MRI-compatible: Non-magnetic; patients with implants can safely undergo MRI scans.
- High purity with corrosion resistance: High titanium content with tightly controlled interstitial elements; no corrosion in physiological environments.
- Good osseointegration: Titanium surface forms bioactive oxide layer that promotes bone cell attachment.
Performance Solutions
- Problem: Stainless steel implants contain nickel and may trigger allergies, inflammation, or rejection.
Solution: ASTM F67 Gr1 titanium wire has zero nickel content, is non-toxic and non-allergenic. One of the safest surgical implant materials available.
- Problem: CoCr alloy implants are dense with high elastic modulus, causing stress shielding that impairs bone healing.
Solution: ASTM F67 Gr1 titanium wire has an elastic modulus near 100 GPa — much closer to human bone (10–30 GPa) — reducing stress shielding.
- Problem: Polymer implant materials lack strength and are radiolucent, complicating post-operative assessment.
Solution: ASTM F67 Gr1 titanium wire delivers reliable strength and is clearly visible on X-ray. Easy follow-up and position verification.
- Problem: Metal implants create MRI artifacts and heating risks, compromising diagnostic safety.
Solution: ASTM F67 Gr1 titanium wire is non-magnetic with minimal MRI artifacts. Patients can safely undergo MRI examinations.
Applications
- A. Used in bone screws, bone plates, intramedullary nails, spinal fixation systems, and joint replacement components. ASTM F67-certified for surgical implantation. High ductility enables intraoperative contouring.
- B. Used in implant abutments, archwires, orthodontic brackets, and denture frameworks. Excellent biocompatibility with no gingival irritation. Safe for long-term use.
- C. Used in vascular stents, cardiac occluder frames, guidewires, and catheter braiding wire. Non-magnetic, non-toxic, and MRI-compatible. Suitable for permanent implantation.
- D. Used in microsurgical forceps, tweezers, needle holders, and minimally invasive instrument components. Lightweight for reduced operator fatigue. Compatible with repeated sterilization.
- E. Used in sternal closure wire, cerclage wire, suture anchors, and soft-tissue fixation devices. Good ductility for secure knotting. Easy handling during surgery.
