ASTM F67 Medical Gr2 Titanium Wire
ASTM F67 Medical Gr2 Titanium Wire Description
Product Introduction
ASTM F67 Gr2 medical titanium wire is an unalloyed titanium product conforming to ASTM F67 for surgical implant applications. Offers higher strength than Gr1 (UTS≥345 MPa annealed) while maintaining good ductility and excellent biocompatibility. Nickel-free, non-toxic, and non-sensitizing, Gr2 is the highest-volume CP titanium grade for medical implants, providing the best balance of strength, ductility, and cost. Widely used in orthopedic implants, dental fixtures, and surgical instruments. Available from φ0.1 mm to φ6.5 mm, customizable up to φ10.0 mm, as straight wire or coil.

Features and Advantages
- Strength and ductility: UTS≥345 MPa annealed, elongation ≥20%; suited for load-bearing implants.
- Dual implant-grade certification: Meets both ASTM F67 and ISO 5832-2 surgical implant standards.
- Non-toxic, non-sensitizing: Zero nickel content; safe for long-term in-vivo use with no rejection.
- MRI-compatible: Non-magnetic; patients with implants can safely undergo MRI scans.
- Physiological corrosion resistance: No corrosion or degradation in blood, body fluids, or pharmaceutical environments.
- Proven clinical volume: The most widely used CP titanium grade in medicine; extensive clinical data supporting safety and reliability.
Performance Solutions
1. Problem: Stainless steel implants contain nickel and may trigger allergies, inflammation, or rejection.
Solution: ASTM F67 Gr2 titanium wire has zero nickel, is non-toxic and non-allergenic. A safe surgical implant material.
2. Problem: CoCr alloy elastic modulus is too high (>200 GPa), causing stress shielding in bone tissue.
Solution: ASTM F67 Gr2 titanium wire has an elastic modulus near 100 GPa — closer to bone — promoting better bone healing.
3. Problem: Polymer implant materials are radiolucent, making post-operative follow-up difficult.
Solution: ASTM F67 Gr2 titanium wire is clearly visible on X-ray for easy position verification and bone-healing assessment.
4. Problem: Metal implants create MRI artifacts and heating, compromising diagnostic safety.
Solution: ASTM F67 Gr2 titanium wire is non-magnetic with minimal MRI artifacts. Patients can safely undergo whole-body MRI.
Applications
A. Used in bone screws, bone plates, intramedullary nails, spinal fixation rods, and joint replacement accessories. ASTM F67-certified for surgical implantation. The most commonly used CP titanium implant material in orthopedics.
B. Used in implants, abutments, archwires, and orthodontic brackets. Excellent biocompatibility with no gingival irritation. Safe and reliable for long-term use.
C. Used in sternal ligature wire, cerclage wire, suture anchors, and soft-tissue fixation devices. Balanced strength and ductility. Readily contoured intraoperatively.
D. Used in forceps, tweezers, needle holders, and minimally invasive instrument components. Lightweight — 56% of stainless steel — reducing surgeon fatigue.
E. Used in cardiac occluder frames, vascular stent substrates, and guidewire braiding wire. Non-magnetic, non-toxic, MRI-compatible. Suitable for permanent implantation.
